Section 16: It shall be lawful for the Governor, for and on behalf of Her

Majesty, to contract and agree with the owner or occupier or any other person interested in any land which may be appropriated and taken for the service of the Colony, or be affected by the exercise Colony, or be affected by the exercise of any of the powers as regards such land Granted by this Ordinance, for the compensation to be allowed, either in respect of the actual value of the land, or in respect of damages incurred by reason of the exercise of any of the said powers, and any sum or sums so agreed on as last aforesaid, or which shall be awarded under the provisions of this Ordinance, shall be paid by the Accountant General
