Where, owing to an obstacle, the beacon cannot be placed in the correctposition, an iron pin shall be set in concrete in the obstacle, and the identification number stamped near the pin, and if the obstacle is of such material that a pin cannot be sunk, nor the numbers cut or stamped, a dot may be marked thereon, along with identification marks. The position of the pin or dot relative to the true position of the beacon shall be clearly shown in the field book.
