(1) The Attorney-General may order in writing that the power expressly vested in him by section 44 be vested forthe time being any other Law Officer and the exercise of these powers by such other Law Officer shall then operate as if they had been exercised by the Attorney- General, so however that the power to enter a nolle prosequi in any proceedings preliminary to the committal of the accused for trial on indictment shall not be vested in any person other than the Attorney-General.
