Section 15, Local Courts Act, 1963

No legal practitioner or other person may appear for any party before a Local Court or Group Local Appeal Court: Provided that the Court may in cases of hardship where a party cannot be present in person permit the absent party to be represented by a spouse, guardian or relative duly authorized by him in that behalf.
