l. Seaion I ofthe wildlife ConservafionAct 1972 isametrded
by-
(a) repealing and replacing &e definition of
"Chief Conservator of Forests" with the
fotlowing new definition-
"Director" means the professional head
of the Forestry Division of the Ministry
oftle Environnelt;
(b) repealing and replacing the definition of
"department" with the following new
definition-
"department" means the Forestry
Division in the Ministry of the
Environmenc
(c) repealing and replacing the definition of
"employee of the department" with the
following new definition-
"employee oflhe departsnent'r means a
person employed in the Forestry
Division in the Ministry of the
Environmenq
(d) repealing and replacing the definition of
"Minister" \Yith the followiug new
defilition-
"Minister" means the Minister
responsible for the Environment.
2- The Wildlife Conservation Ad, 1972 is amended by
substiarting the title "ChiefcoGervator of Forests" with "Director
of For€s|ry" wher€ver it occurs.

"Pcnalties. 60. A person guilty of an offence uader this
Act for rvhich no special penalry is provided is liable
oD conyiction to a fine not less than L,e I 5,000.000.00
or to a term of imprisonment not less than 2 years or to
both such fine and imprisorment and a trophy in
respect of \f,hich the conviction shall have been
recorded shall be forfeited".
