Section 109, The Local Government Act, 2004

(1) There is hereby established the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Local Government and Decentralization . (2) The Inter-Ministerial Committee shall consist of– (a) the Vice President who shall be the chairman; (b) the Minister responsible for local government; (c) the Minister responsible for finance; (d) the Minister responsible for development and economic planning; (e) the Minister responsible for education; (f) the Minister responsible for health and sanitation; (g) the Attorney-General; (h) the Minister responsible for agriculture; (i) the Minister responsible for works; and (j) four chairpersons of local councils , elected from among their number, to represent the interests of all local councils.
