Section 24, The Local Government Act, 2004

(1) A local council may, in agreement with any one ormore other local councils appoint a joint committee for any projects or matters in which they are jointly interested, and may delegate to the committee any functions of the councils relating to the project or matter for which the committee is appointed. (2) A committee appointed under this section may be authorised to co-opt additional members. (3) A committee appointed under this section shall, unless otherwise directed, report its proceedings to the local councils concerned.
