Section 30, The Local Government Act, 2004

(1) Subject to subsection (2)– (a) Councillors shall be paid such transport and other allowances as the local council may determine; and (b) Chairpersons and Deputy Chairpersons shall be paid such remuneration as the local council may determine. (2) Any allowances or remuneration paid shall be financed by the local council under guidelines issued by the Ministry after consulting the Ministry responsible for finance.
