Section 33, The Education Act, 2004

(1) The Minister shall establish a school managementcommittee in respect of any government assisted primary school and every management committee so established shall assist in the management of that school in accordance with rules made by the Minister under this Act. (2) The management committee established under this section shall consist of the following members:– (a) the head teacher; (b) the inspector of schools or his representative (non-voting member); (c) the proprietor’s representative; (d) chairman of the community teachers’ association; (e) the traditional ruler of the village or area concerned; (f) a female member or representative of Chiefdom Education Committee; (g) a prominent educationist. School management committees. and composition of advisory bodies. and constitution of Boards of Governors. (3) The chairman of the management committee shall be appointed by the members of the committee from among their number, subject to the approval of the Minister.
