Section 8, **The Pensions and Retiring Benefits of Presidents and Vice-Presidents Act, 1986** [Margin: Short title.]

Where any person to whom a pension is payable under this Act is or becomes a Member of Parliament or is elected to the office of President, he may elect to receive his pension in lieu of his salary from the date such pension becomes payable or from the date of his so becoming a Member of Parliament as the case may be, or from the date of his election to the office of President, until such time as he ceases to be a Member of Parliament or President but he shall not be entitled to receive both such pension and salary.
