Section 17, The Insurance Act, 2016

Failure of an insurer who was carrying on any class ofinsurance business in Sierra Leone at or before the commencement
of this Act to obtain a certificate of registration in accordance with
the requirements of this Act shall not operate to invalidate any
contract of insurance entered into by him before the commencement
of this Act or three months after that.
