Section 38, The National Youth Service Act, 2016

(1) A prospective employer shall request from a youth acopy of his certificate of national service issued under section 37, a copy of an exemption certificate issued under section 28 or a copy of a deferment letter issued under section 29. (2) A prospective employer who fails to request for the certificate of national service, certificate of exemption or deferment letter referred to in subsection (1) commits an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine of Le 15,000,000.00 or to imprisonment for a term of three years or to both the fine and imprisonment.
