Section 2, **The Freetown Municipality (Amendment) Act, 1970** [Margin: Short title.]

Subsection (2) of section 28 of the principal Act is hereby repealed and replaced by the following new subsection— "(2) On such date after the commencement of this Act as the Minister may by Order declare all seats in the Council shall become vacant and there shall be a general election of members of the Council and former members of the Council shall be eligible for election or re-election as the case may be; and thereafter an election to fill the vacancies caused by the retirement of those members whose term of office has expired shall be held triennially on the first day of April.".
