Section 5, The Banking Act, 1964

Any person or company wishing to obtain authority to Applicacarry on banking business in Sicrra Leone shall apply in writing tion forthrough the Central Bank to the Minister for the grant of a licence a licence.and shall submit (a) a copy or, if the original is not in the English language,an officially certificd English translation of the memorandum of association and articles of association or other instrument under which it is incorporated, duly verifiedby a statutory declaration made by a senior oficer of the company or other appropriate person; (b) a copy or, if the orig1nal is not in the English language,an officially certified English translation of its latestbalance sheet or, if it is currently carrying on bankingbusiness outside Sierra Leone, an audited copy of itslatest balance sheet; (c) such other information as the Minister or the CentralBank may require.
