Section 4B, l. This Act may be cited as the' Tribal Authorities Short title.(Amendment) Act, 1964.

A Chiefdom Council may enter into such Contracts byContracts as may be necessary or expedient for carry- Chiefdoming into effect the provisions of this Act, or of anyother enactment conferring powers or duties uponChiefdom Councils, subject to the following condi (b) that every contract whereof the value exceeds one hundred pounds shall be inwriting signed by the Chairman of the Chiefdom Committee: A 103 Cap. 62. C1/4 (d) before contracting for the execution of any works. the Council shall obtain an estimate in writing of the probable expense of execut ing the work in a substantial manner: (e) before any contract of which the value exceeds one hundred pounds is entered into, a noticc shall be published in the Gazeite describing the nature and purpose thereof, inviting tenders for the execution of the work so described and specifying a period of not less than two weeks during which tenders may be submitted; and the Council shall require and take sufficient security for the due performance of the contract.".
