Innovation (a) be responsible to oversee the hamessing and committee dissemination of agricultural knowledge derived frorn previous and ongoing research piogr ;unes ol Institute and ensure their effective transformation to viable inr)ovations, including- (i: pron:oting policies, strategies and 3uidelines to support documentation aod dissemination of research findings fi'or,r the research programmes of the lnstirlte; (ii) dev:loping appropriate policies and -sur,l.rlines to ensure maximum benefits fr,rar the knowledge capital and iniellectual property of the Instituiel l8 No.28 The Sierra Leone Agricultural Researchlratitute Act' 2023 (iiD facilitating national dialogue among stakeholders in the national agricultural research systemto promote communication and knowledge sharing through farmer outreach, extension and shortterm training; (il) developing strategic framework with guidelines to facilitate the active tansfer of modern agricultural knowledge and irrnovations from the Institute to farmers and farming communities through multiple forms of cooperation between the tnstitute and the farming community as well as otler forms of collaboration with key stakeholders that support knowledge transfer and diffirsion of agricultural innovations to farming communities; (v) providing periodic updates to the Council on the socio-economic outcomes and impact of research and innovations of the Institute on the economy; (vi) overseeing the establishment and operation of a national knowledge repositorY to support farmers, researchers and innovators; and (vii) performing such other frrnctions as the Council maY dotermine.
