(1) No person shall abstract raw water by mechanicalmeans except on a permit issued by the Agency for that purpose. (2) The Minister may, after consultation with the Agency, by statutory instrument prescribe the level of water uses which shall be exempted from the requirement of a permit under subsection (1). (3) Subject to this Act, an exemption from the requirement of a permit under subsection (2) shall be registered in accordance with section 29. (4) A water permit granted under this Act shall– 22 23 Regulation of water use.
