Section 54, the Local Government Act, 2004, exercising authority

(1) The Company shall be liable for making good anyloss or damage to consumers’ pipes, fittings, appliances and other damages resulting from the negligence of an employee or agent of the Company and shall pay reasonable compensation for such damage or loss. (2) Where there is a dispute as to the amount of compensation payable, it shall be determined by a court within the locality where the damage or loss occurred.
