Section 10, The Independent Media Commission Act, 2000. [Margin: Short title.]

(1) The Commission shall have a permanent secretariat for the efficient discharge of the functions of the Commission. [Margin: Secretariat and staff of Commission.] (2) The secretariat shall be headed by an Executive Secretary who shall be appointed by the Commission upon such terms and conditions as the Commission may determine. (3) The Executive Secretary shall be a person with wide experience in media matters and shall be responsible to the Commission for— 28 No. 12 Independent Media Commission Act 2000 (a) the day-to-day administration of the affairs of the Commission; (b) the supervision and discipline of the staff of the Commission; (c) the recording and keeping of minutes of the meetings of the Commission; and (d) the performance of such other functions as the Commission may determine. (4) The Commission shall also employ in the secretariat such other staff and upon such terms and conditions as it may determine. [Margin: Protection of officers and other employees of Commission.]
