Section 20, The Patents and Industrial Design Act, 2012

(1) Where the Registrar is satisfied that the conditionsreferred to in section 18 are fulfilled, the Registrar shall grant the patent, otherwise, he shall refuse the application and notify the applicant of that decision. (2) Where the Registrar grants a patent, he shall - (a) publish a reference to the grant of the patent; (c) issue to the applicant a certificate of the grant of the patent and a copy of the patent; (d) record the patent in the Register; and (e) make available copies of the patent to the public, on payment of the prescribed fee.
