Section 7, Terrorism Act, 2012

(1) The President shall appoint a person to be designatedas “Director”. (2) The appointment of the Director shall be– (a) subject to the approval of Parliament; (b) for a term of five years which may be renewed for another term only; and (c) on the terms and conditions considered appropriate for the efficient discharge of his (3) The Director– (a) shall be a legal practitioner, or a person with qualification and experience in accounting, economics, banking or auditing and experienced in the investigation of financial matters; (b) shall not be a director or officer of a financial institution or have a controlling interest in a financial institution; (c ) shall be responsible to the Technical Committee in the performance of his Appointment of staff Unit. 18 19 (4) The Director shall, after consulting the Technical Committee appoint other staff of the Unit. (5) The Unit may engage the services of consultants or advisers as may-be necessary for the discharge of its functions.
