Section 17, The Criminal Procedure Act, 2024

Except where the person arrested is in the actual course ofthe commission of a crime or is pursued immediately after escape
from lawful custody, the Police Officer or any other person making
the arrest shall inform the person arrested of the cause of the arrest
and if the Police Officer or any other person is acting under the
authority of a warrant, shall notify him of the substance of the warrant
and if so required, shall show him the warrant.
