Section 69, The Criminal Procedure Act, 2024

Where the defendant appears to be of sound mind at thetime of the committal proceedings, the Court shall, notwithstanding that it is alleged that at the time when the act was committed in respect of which the defendant is charged he was, by reason of unsoundness of mind incapable of knowing the nature of the act or that it was wrong or contrary to law, proceed with the case and if the defendant ought to be committed for trial, so commit him.
