Section 9, The Criminal Procedure Act, 2024

A Police Officer or person making an arrest may take fromthe person arrested, an offensive weapon or other object found in his possession likely to afford material evidence for the prosecution of the offence for which the defendant has been arrested, and anything so taken from an arrested person shall be produced as evidence before the Court.
