(1) The object for which the Service isestablished is to train graduates and non-graduates and to enhance their ability to provide services to the nation. (2) Without prejudice to the generality of subsection (1), it shall be the function of the Service to- (a) establish orientation camps for training of of section 12 "Functions of Service. of section 8 "Meetings of board. (b) provide technical and vocational skills training, apprenticeship and personal development programmes and activities for (c) generate national consciousness and discipline in Service members by instilling in them a tradition of patriotism, loyalty, integrity, duty and service to the nation; (d) provide personal development programmes and activities for Service members; (e) initiate, plan, organise, fund, manage, administer and control programmes and activities for the development of service; (f) inculcate youth volunteerism and civil responsibilities among Service members; (g) operate with and assist the Office of National Security, the National Disaster Management Agency and other public institutions during emergencies and disasters; (h) develop fortitude of mind and moral competence required for leadership in (i) enable the Service members to acquire the capacity to be self-reliant by encouraging them to develop skills for employment; (j) develop cross cultural integration among (k) assists the Ministry in the establishment and capacity support of both District and Chiefdom Youth Councils (l) do such other things so as to attain the object of the Service."
