Section 31, The Environment Protection Act, 2000

(1) An authorised officer when exercising any of the powers conferred by this Act shall, on request, produce identification to show that he is an authorised officer. (2) Notwithstanding the provisions of this Act, no person shall be deemed to have committed an offence under this Act where an authorised officer refuses or fails to comply with a request to produce identification pursuant to subsection (1). 16 No. 2 Environment Protection Act 2000 [Margin: Protection of officers.]
