Section 23, The National Power Authority Act, 1982

(1) The Authority shall so exercise and perform its functions under this Act as to secure that taking one year with another, the revenues of the Authority are sufficient to meet the expenditure properly chargeable to revenue account. (2) For the purpose of sub-section (1), the words "the expenditure properly chargeable to revenue account" shall mean all charges which in the normal conduct of business are proper to be charged to revenue account, including in particular, appropriate provision for— (a) the depreciation or renewal of assets; (b) the redemption of any loan raised by the Authority; and (c) prudent reserves.
