Section 58, The National Power Authority Act, 1982

(1) Execution of all work in connection with the generation or supply of energy which crosses (whether overhead or under ground) or may otherwise affect any street, canal, or other waterway or any system of irrigation, drainage, or water supply, or any telegraphs, telephones or system of radio communication or any harbour, shall be carried out in the prescribed manner and with all reasonable and proper precaution for the safety of all concerned. (2) Any person who, without reasonable excuse, contravenes or fails to comply with the provisions of this section shall be guilty of an offence under this Act.
