Section 142, The Road Traffic Act, 2007

A person who commits an offence under this Act for whicha penalty has not been prescribed is liable on summary conviction to a fine not less than Le50,000 and not exceeding Le250,000 or to a term of imprisonment not exceeding 12 months or to both and for a second or subsequent offence to a further fine not less than Le100,000 and not exceeding Le500,000 or to a term of imprisonment not less than 6 months and not exceeding 12 months or to both.
