Section 77, The Road Traffic Act, 2007

(1) A person shall not drive a commercial vehicle unlesshe obtains in respect of such vehicle the relevant licence issued by
the Licensing Authority.
(2) A licence issued under this section shall be valid for
the period specified in the licence and may be renewed upon
application.
(3) A person who drives a commercial vehicle without a
relevant licence under subsection (1) commits an offence and is
