Section 78, Civil Aviation Act, 2017 for an effective aviation safety and security

There shall be a Director of Accident Investigation whoshall be responsible for - (a) the direction, control and administration of the Directorate; (b) determining, in the event of an occurrence of an accident or incident, whether or not an investigation shall be carried out; (c) submitting reports to the Minister of any accident or incident investigation; (d) issuing notices to the appropriate persons following the occurrence of an accident or incident; and Establishment of Directorate of Accident Accident Funds of the Directorate. Functions of Director of Accident (e) any other function conferred upon him by the Minister or under any other law.
