Section 14, The Political Parties Act, 2002

(1) A political party shall not have as a founding memberor as a leader of the party or a member of its executive body, whether national or otherwise, a person who is not qualified to be elected as members of Parliament under the Constitution. (2) An association shall not be registered as a political party under this Act if it has on its national executive committee or other body members predominantly belonging to a particular religious faith, tribal or ethnic group or, as the case may be, hailing from a particular geographical area. 3 4 Registration of Political Parties.
