Section 24, The Rural Area (2) This Ordinance shall come into operation on the first day of January, 1950, or

(I) On such date or dates after the coming into operationof this section as the Minister may by Order declare, there shall be held a general election of the members of each local authority in accordance with the provisions of this Ordinance. (2) On such date or dates in every third year after the general election held under the provisions of sub-section( I) of this section as the Minister may by Order declare there shall be held a general election of the members of each local authority in accordance with the provisions of this Ordinance. (3) The Minister may declare different dates for different local authorities for the holding of general elections. General elections to be held every third year.*
