Where purchase money or compensation has been paidin respect of land or any interest therein purchased or taken from a local authority, or in respect of permanent damage to land of a local authority, and the Governor approves of the payment of the money or compensation to such local authority, the Governor may, as a condition of his approval, require provision to be made for investing a sum equivalent to the amount of money so paid.
