Section 96, The Rural Area (2) This Ordinance shall come into operation on the first day of January, 1950, or

(1} The rate provided for in the Estimates of localauthorities in any one financial year shall be a rate at a uniform amount per pound on the assessed annual value of assessed prem~ses and shall be a single rate in respect of all assessed (2) The rate provided for in the approved Estimates of local authorities (to be called the rate) shall be imposed by the Rural Area Council and levied in respect of each rural district by the rural district council concerned and shall be payable to the proper officer of the rural district council on or before the 31st day of January following the date on which the Estimates providing for the rate are approved, or such later date as the Rural Area Council may by notice declare.
