Section 10, The Debtors' Ordinance

The plaintiff shall pay to the keeper of the prison, weeklyin advance, such a sum as the Court shall direct, and, in the absence of any such direction, the sum of seven shillings a week for the subsistence in prison of a defendant so committed as· aforesaid; and the amount so paid may be recovered by the plaintiff in action or suit, unless the Court shall otherwise order. The Court rna y release the person so imprisoned on failure of the plaintiff to pay the subsistence money.
