Section 13, The Sierra Leone Correctional Service Act, 2014

Within a correctional centre and while in charge ofinmates and for the purpose of- (a) conveying any person to or from a correctional centre; or (b) apprehending any inmate who may have escaped from a correctional centre or who may have escaped while being conveyed to or from a correctional centre, every corrections officer shall have the powers, protections and privileges of a police officer.
