Section 64, The Sierra Leone Correctional Service Act, 2014

(1) An inmate found guilty of a minor correctional centreoffence by a lower court shall be liable to- (a) imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months; (b) additionally or alternatively any one or more of the punishments specified in section 65. (2) An inmate found guilty of a major correctional centre offence by a subordinate court shall, subject to subsection (3), be liable to imprisonment for a period not exceeding two years. (3) A sentence of imprisonment imposed for a correctional centre offence on an inmate- (a) who is a convicted inmate shall commence on the date of the expiry of the sentence of imprisonment being served by the inmate at the time of the offence; (b) who is a convicted inmate shall commence on the date the sentence of imprisonment is imposed.
