Section 76, The Sierra Leone Correctional Service Act, 2014

An inmate who escapes, or attempts to escape, commitsan offence and is liable on conviction- (a) if he was undergoing a sentence of imprisonment for a period of not less than six years, to imprisonment for a further period not exceeding ten years, and (b) if he was undergoing a sentence of imprisonment for a period of less than three years, to imprisonment for a further period not exceeding two years, and (c) if he was undergoing a sentence of imprisonment for a period not exceeding six months, or was an inmate on remand or awaiting trial, to imprisonment for a further period not exceeding twelve months.
