STATUTORY INSTRUMENT NO. 1 OF 2022

PROCLAMATION
By His Excellency Rtd. Brig. Julius Maada Bio,
President of the Republic, Supreme Head of State,
Grand Commander of the Order of the Republic,
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces,
Fountain Head of Unity, Honour, Freedom and
Justice.

WHEREAS by section 57 of the Public Elections Act, 2012, it
is provided that the President shall, after consultation with the
Electoral Commission, appoint the time for a general election of the
Members of Parliament.
Now, THEREFORE, I RTD. BRIG. JULIUS MAADA BIO, President of
the Republic of Sierra Leone, Supreme Head of State, Grand
Commander of the Order of the Republic and Commander-in-Chief of
the Armed Forces of Sierra Leone having regard to section 57 of the
Public Elections Act, 2012, Do HEREBY by this Proclamation declare
that the time for a general election of -
(a) Paramount Chief Members of Parliament shall
be the 27th day of May, 2023;
