Section 224, THE CRIMINAL PROCEDURE ACTS, 1965

As soon as may be after judgment of death has been executed on the offender his body shall be examined by the Medical Officer in charge of the Prison, who shall ascertain the fact of death and sign a certificate thereof in duplicate
and deliver the same to the Sheriff.
