(1) The Weights and Measures Act, 1961 is herebyrepealed.
(2) Notwithstanding the repeal of the Weights and
Measures Act, 1961, the use of any weight or measure authorized by
that Act shall be lawful up to the 1st day of January, 2012:
Provided that on and after the 2nd day of January, 2012 only the
International System of Units as provided by this Act shall be used.
