Section 112, The Local Government Act, 2004

(1) A local council may be represented in any legalproceedings by an officer of the council authorised in respect of any particular proceedings by resolution of the council, and the officer so authorised shall be at liberty to institute and carry on any proceedings which the council is authorised to institute and carry on under this or any other enactment, subject to any directions which may be given to him by the council. (2) Service on the local council of all legal processes and notices shall be effected by service on the Chairperson. promote participatory processes in governance.
