Section 64, The National Civil Registration Act, 2016

(1) A person, following an application in writing to the Director-General or an authorised officer and on payment to him of the prescribed fee may– (a) subject to such conditions (if any) as may be determined by the Authority, search an index to a register maintained under section 42 and; (b) be issued a certified true copy. (2) The Director-General or an authorised officer shall, on application by a person to him in that behalf in writing and on payment of the prescribed fee- (a) search the registers maintained under section 42, and the indexes thereto, as are specified in the application; and (b) give the person a certified true copy.
