Section 19, The National Youth Service Act, 2016

(1) The National Directorate shall have a Deputy Executive Director who shall be appointed by the President after consultation with the Minister subject to the approval of Parliament. (2) No person shall be appointed Deputy Executive Director unless he has formal qualifications, extensive knowledge and experience relevant to the functions of the Service . (3) The Deputy Executive Director shall be appointed for a term of five years from the date of appointment subject to renewal based on performance. (4) The Deputy Executive -Director shall not be removed from office except for reasons which would justify his removal from the Public Service. (5) The Deputy Executive Director shall assist the Executive Director in the performance of his duties.
