Section 28, The National Youth Service Act, 2016

(1) Members of the Sierra Leone Armed Forces and Police Force shall be exempted from enlisting in the service scheme.
(2) The Board may exempt a graduate from enlisting in
the service scheme on the following grounds;
(a) medical reasons; and
(b) graduates in disciplines that are not national
development priority .
(3) The Board shall issue an exemption certificate duly
signed by the Executive -Director to a graduate who is exempted
from the service scheme under subsection (2).
