Nothing in this section shall prevent aiscrimila{o1.where Arrrrm'tivca group of pupils share a characteristic aDd by virurc ol whtch - (a) that group suffers a disadvantage in accessing the same quality ofeducation as pupils who do not sharc that characteristic; or O) that group's participation in education is disproportionately low: Provided that such discrimination docs not go b€yond what is reasonably necessary to enswe that group has equality ofopportrnity in acc'essing and comPleting education.
