(1) There shall be a National Board of Education Nationat "o*irting Jf , ihuir*urr, appoirted by the President, upon Boart of recomrnendat ion frour the Minister and the fol lowing orher mem bers- (a) 4 representatives from faith-based instiEtions; 1i) a rep.esentative of the National Union of Private Schools; G) The Financial ses€tary or his representativg not below the lank of Director; (O a representative of the National Couucil of Paramomt Chiefs; (e) The Head ofihe National OfEce, WesAfiican Examinaion Cormc il or his represertalive, not below the rank ofDkectoq (D The Chainna& Teacbing Service Commissiol or his representative, not below the rank of Dircctor: 18 No. The Basic and Senior Seconddry Educalion Act 2023 G) a representative of Conference of Principals of Secondary Schools; (b) a representative of the National Council of Head Teachcrs; @ The Commissioner, Persons with Disability Commission or his represeDtatiye, not below the rank ofDirector; 0) a rcpresentative from Sierra Leone Teachers Union; (k) the Permanent Secletary, Ministry responsible for local governmeut or his representative, not below tle rank ofDirector; (D such numbet not exceeding 5, education and technical experts, resident in Siena Leone, as the Minister may appoint; (m) a representative oftte Siera Leone Bar Association; (n) The Chaiman, Education Youth Advisory GroW; (2) The Deputy Secretaqr shall serve as Secretaq/ to the Board and shall not have a voting right (3) A person shall not be appointed Chairman under subsection (1), unless - (a) he has demonstrable experienc€ ofthe sy'stem ofeducation in Sierra Leone or ofinstitutions dealing or connected u ith matters relating to the Sierra Leone education system: or No The Basic and Senior Secondary Hucation Act 2023 l9
