Section 52, The Employment Act, 2023

(1) Save as otherwise expressly permitted by this Act, theentire amount of wages earned by or payable to a worker shall be paid directly to the worker and an employer shall not make a deduction from the wages of a worker unless it is a permitted deduction. (2) An employer who makes a deduction from a worker’s salary without his consent, that is not permitted under section 53, commits an offence and on conviction is liable to a fine not less than 6 months national minimum wage.
