Section 22, Agricultural Research Institute Act 2007 (Act No. 25 of 2007), to

(l) The Institute shall have - (a) a Deputy Director-General, Research' technology and innovation development; O) aDeputyDirector4eneral,Commercialisation . and agri-busrness deveioPment' both of whom shall be appointed by the Council, to serve under the general supervision and contol of the Director4eneral' No.2E llz Sierra Leonc .4gtictifitdl Rese ch Instilute Act' 2023 3l (2) A person shau not be appointed as Deputy Director- General unless he - (a) holds a doctorate degree in agriculture or related sciences from a recognised university with at least 7 years of post-doctoral exp€rience inagriculturalresearch, scientilic research, academia or develoPment; (b) has a proven knowledge and experience ln agricultural develoPment; (c) has proven managerial skills; and (d) has attained the rank of- (f Principal Research Officer in a reputable research institution or (ii) Associate Professor from a recognised university. (3) A Deputy Director-General shall hold ofEce for 5 yea6 and shall be eligible for reappointment for a firther term of5 yea$ only. (4) The minimum terms and conditions of service of a Deputy Director4eneral shall be determined by Council and shall be aqoiuul"nt to or better thar those of a Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Njala University, Universlty ofSierra t eone or other public urivenities in Sierra Leone.
